State-of-the-Art Metal Finishing
Our new state-of-the-art powder/paint line includes a five-stage wash system which not only cleans the parts thoroughly but also etches them with zirconium crystals to make powder adhere like glue to the part.
After cleaning and sealing the part goes straight into a ‘dry off’ oven where the temperature varies from 100 – 350 degrees.
Waiting are two (2) quad paint application liquid/powder booths each customized with the newest Optiflex 2 control units and Binks Trophy Series Liquid Spray Equipment separated by an infrared gas catalytic 4 minute cure system.
This system allows two coats to be applied (if needed) before the parts are baked in a cure oven for about 15 – 30 min.
By the time the parts reach the end, they are have cooled and are ready to be pulled off of the line, inspected and packaged.
Powder coating is a method of applying dry powder to a surface that is given an electrostatic charge; this causes the powder to stick to the part that is being coated.
The powder is usually a thermoplastic or a thermoset polymer.
With the powder applied, the part is then baked at a specific temperature (this often varies) fusing the powder into a dense and ultra-durable coat.
Powder coats are available in hundreds, if not thousands of standard colors, including glosses, flats, and matte finishes.
It is important to consider what the coated part will be used for the end.
- Will the coated part be exposed to weather?
- Perhaps installed inside an airplane cockpit?

After all, it makes a lot more sense to powder coat a piece once, rather than re-coat it several times at a much higher expense.
- Powder coatings are more Earth-friendly than standard liquid paints, as the powder coating process releases negligible amounts (if any) of VOC’s in the atmosphere.
- Powder coating is much more durable than liquid based paints and resistant to chipping, wearing, fading and scratching.
- Color selection is virtually unlimited with flat, satin, gloss, high gloss, metallic, candies, clear, iridescent, fluorescent, wrinkle, hammer tone, and glitter finishes available.
- Powder coatings can be applied in a much thicker layer than conventional coatings without sagging running or dripping.
- Less waste than liquid based paint. Over sprayed powder can be collected and reused.
- Completely cured and ready for work 20 minutes after coating… liquid paint take days to properly dry.
- No runs or drips. No trace of application process noticeable on the final product.
- Generally safer overall. Wet paint can be flammable, carcinogenic, and emit toxic fumes.

For the last 30 years, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has been implementing increasingly stringent pollution control legislation.
Traditional liquid finishes contain solvents that are loaded with Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) that pollute the environment and are prone to waste via overspray.
On the other hand, powder coatings contain ZERO harmful VOC’s and most of the powder overspray can be collected and re-used!
